My name is Steve and all the knowledge of flintlocks and mountain men I have is from reading this forum. Someday I will have my rifle to shoot but I will need to learn a lot more. I did shoot my brother-in-law's new muzzleloader once a few years ago and split a broomhandle in half at 30 yards (I really should mention the broomhandle was used as a stake to prop up a piece of 1/4" plywood with some circles drawn on it, and I missed the circle). Anyway, you guys keep talking so I can learn some more. Thanks for your time, Steve.

Welcome Steve - your going to do great, you've just got to learn to adjust your story a bit, something like ....

"anyone can hit the circle so I figured I would split the stake holding the target - now that's a good shot"

Seriously Steve - welcome
