Anyways, here's the stuff I made last summer for my Bess. Wanted to keep it all simple, but got carried away when making the bag. Probably not very "PC", but usable none the less.

Ball bag - from wife's 1970-ish skirt and Maple sappling from front yard, doubles as shot pouch w/ maple ball/wad starter for plug. Bag has a buttoned pouch for a few wads or patches (about to re-make with Teak and same leather as the bag w/ lace)
Teak parts whittled at work (in spare time(?) used as the loading block / starter combo and the end plugs on horn
Load block/starter - Block goes into a pocket on the backside of the strap, starter in front. Block first, then starter and the starter captures the block through the leather. Neither can fall out when locked this way. Honestly wasn't planned this way, just happened to work that way (lot to be said for "dumb luck" :winking: )
Sling - simply a neccesity of life. :grin:
Horn- locally percured really "green" horn. Horn has brass screws on the plug end with the heads filed off after insalling to simulate round raised tacks.
Bag - ideas from the TOW Gamekeeper's Bag (couldn't afford the price, so I made one) about 8X7 inch, front pouch/pocket and divider inside the main compartment. Added 3 game keepers to the outside flap. Nothing sewen, everything was hand punched and laced. 2" wide strap. Sealed with Cadilac and Bees Wax then "toasted" in the oven at 165 Deg. for an hour,, twice.
Wad/lube tin - 2 Altoids tins, one for the inside compartment (notice Bee's wax and Olive oil comp?)
Flint wallet - leather laced to hold 2 flints w/ leather pads and homemade screwdriver/flint's clamp pin wrench, made from an old Allen Wrench.
All total, I may have $40.00 invested (minus the musket of course). Rather not mention the amount of time :grin:
Lot's of this was possible by stealing ideas as seen from other's postings. So, if someone copies my ideas, they're not really mine to begin with,, help yourself.

No problem on the refill...although....I'm thinkin it may require one of those Load block/starter's that you make. :hmm: :grin:

Not sure what you want "elaboration" on and I have a tendancy to get a bit long winded.
Anyways, here goes.
Tin was fron 2 Altoids cans, Paint flamed off and polished with a "fuzz pad" and waxed with the lube. The partition was made to fit with tin snips and sealed with RTV (Excellent glue as well as a sealant). The lube is Bee's wax and Virgin olive oil (mix is relevant to temps used in, summer=more wax, winter= more oil. Wads for my Pedersolli are 11 ga. Circle fly's. I dump powder, card wad, finger of lube, anouther card wad, shot, and over shot card. I found from my paterning board that fiber cushion wads (lubed or not) blows inconsistant holes in my groups so I don't bother with them anymore at all. Paper or plastic shot cups in the field are a big pain in the a$$ and avoid them also. I've standardized a 3 dram 2Fg. charge and control (expected) patterns with amount/size of shot. My shot varies from 1 1/8 to 1 3/8 depending on what I'm after, expected range, and size of shot.
Now to be honest with you, I THINK my heavier shot charges are "stringing" more with smaller shot, and the lighter shot charges are stringing less. But I've no way of proving it. All
I know is it's worked well for me this year on squirrells, geese, ducks, and pheasants.
If I left anything out, I apologize, just ask away. :thumbsup:
