I am going to make a trip to South Texas via I-35 right after Christmas. The ATF has made it very hard for my local dealers to stock blackpowder. So, I was wondering if anyone knew of any gunshops along the route that still stocks blackpowder.

or;

Maybe someone could tell me where Davey Crockett buried the extra powder at the Alamo :crackup: :crackup: :crackup: :what:

I've been to Don's.

Coming down I-35W through Fort Worth will take you near a shop that does stock Goex bp.
If you want to stop email me and I'll send you directions and a map.
It's called Noble's Firearms on N. Beach street if you want to do a search for a map. I don't think he has a website.
There may be others on 35, but I am more familiar with the north side of town.
Let me know if I can help.

Going south on 35 go through Round Rock (town just north of Austin). take the last Round Rock exit and turn left at the light and cross 35. Look for the SPORTSMANS WAREHOUSE. It just opened and the prices are great and they have a large BP section. It is very similar to Cabelas or Bass Pro Shop. Pretty cool place.phone number is 512-218-8880. address is 3203 S. IH 35

McBride's Guns in Austin carries Goex. They are located at
30th and N. Lamar, phone 472-3532.

Thanks guys

Looks like I will be able to pick up some powder while I am in Texas. :master: :: :peace:

On the 24th i found McBrides & bought the 1 can of ffg they had. The sportsman's warehouse off I-35 didn't have any GOEX, only purodex & etc.

Glad I could help. I went to McBride's today to pick up my Leman trade rifle. I had a TC hunters peep sight installed.
I wanted a can of 4F. They did not have any. They told me they were keeping inventories low for tax purposes this time of year.

You can always stop by Bass Pro Shops in Grapevine (probably 10 minutes from I-35E, right near DFW airport) and pick some up on your way through. You have to ask for it because they keep it in the back, but they have always had it when I wanted it.
