.58cal Flintlock / round ball / 10 pointer - photos later
=============================================

"There was a big roar when the .58 spoke,
She bellowed and made a great cloud of smoke;

The blackpowder smoke made it hard to see,
but when it was clear, he laid in the leaves;

I climbed down quietly and took my time,
cleaning my rifle as I knew he was mine;

I walked to the spot where the buck lay still,
paid respects to the deer that gave me such thrill;

I counted his points and counted again,
and each time I counted it came up to 10!

"Thunder" I call her, she speaks and they fall,
from a well placed shot with a Hornady ball".

Gorgeous weather, beautiful fall woods, a good Flintlock, and a nice 10 pointer...doesn't get much better than that!

:thumbsup:

Photos are being developed as we speak...if our Edit feature has a timeout value like the old forum, I'll have to make a separate post.

Good going, Roundball :hatsoff: Good poetry too, it tells the story well! We'll be lookin' forward to photos of that 10 point :thumbsup: :thumbsup:

All these deer stories are only increasing my hunger for whitesmoke. I got hooked on traditional muzzleloading with real bp and prb and have become hooked. I am not an archer and I gave up centerfires for the nostalgia of BP.
