On the Precussion forum there is a Post about them new fangled Cap Locks.
In good humor, things have been talked about and the Flintlock people seem to be enjoying themselves talking about the goodness of the Flintlock over the Precussion lock.

This had the unfortunate results of getting my mind thinking, and thinking of you good people on the Pre Flintlock Forum, I posted the following answer. Hopefully you will enjoy it. ::

"They are still flashin' their pans at us, Zonie. Are there no limits to this indecency?"

Ya. Sum foks jus kan't let go of tha past.
Ah'm a bettin that fore hunnert an fivty yars ago, whan tham folks war a runnin 'roun wit thar new Flintlocks thar war a passel o folks makin fun ov um a wavin thar matches in tha air un a shoutin:

"Broken rocks will never laste! Get your match an have a blaste!!!" grin: ::

"If flinte on steele makes you feel fine,
Just wait till you try smoking twine!!!" :: ::

"Flint on steel,
Where's tha tradition?
Make Burning Punke your goode decision!!!" :: ::

"When the balle ye want to lob,
At Heathens, bold, without a sob,
Youre Matchlock, with its pan filled fulle,
Will blow the villain from his soul.
But Flintlokes with theire Cocke and Screw,
Will in a pinche quite never do,
Best have youre sward to run them thru
Or they will be the death of you!!!" :: ::

"Too many Pieces! Too many Pieces! Something is sure to break!"

Ah figger som day whan tha wind blows thar prim from tha pan, an thar rock shatters on thar hammers, thay wil see how good tham cap guns kan be. :: :: :: ::

Great, maybe I should do the Pyrites of Penzance...

THAT has GOT to be among the worst I've ever heard! Bravo!

BTW, I have to say that these vulgar "stone guns" are a horrid invasion of decency, since only pyrites on a wheel are for decent folk. Let the lower orders use the match, for at least they can be seen (and always smelled, LOL!) at distance, while with the affordable flint-guns, well, Horrors! They might be able to sneak up and murder us in our beds! Saturday Night Specials, BY GOD!

Cheers,

Gordon

Zonie, it's folks like you what cause unrest. :nono:

I would use a firelock, but my Ma won't let me play with matches. :(

Befides, if ye olde clothe yarde shaft with grey goofe wing and yew crefcent waf; good enough for Stumpy of Locklfy, it'f good enough for me.

Too easy to lose them little cappie-things. Flint is underfoot!! Can't fall down in my part of Texas without cutting yourself on flint...or, rocklocks rock! As for little tomes that could go on a horn:

Thae gaved me a boxx
Of toye soljurs
ande I thrue all
ye ofysurs awae
I broked all ye
korpruls ande sarjunts
nowe I plae wyth my
pryvitts all dae! :blah:
