Has anyone built a kit from The Hawken Shop? If so, opinions. In addition, I don't have a drill press. Will I need to try and find one or does it come metal/wood already tapped/drilled? BTW, how would you compare them to other kits, i.e., difficulty in finishing (T/C Hawken, TOTW, etc) and how well made are their parts? I know their barrels are third party but I must admit I like their sales pitch of being the owner/succesor of the original shop and its tools/plans.

Thanks

wasnt the hawken shop web site here some place anyone got it handy souned and looked like one heck of a rifle for a 1000 kit rifle.

I looked at them to but I cant understand why there gun kits were so pricy compared to Tracks or Pectonica.I just dont see any reason to buy a pile of gun parts for $1,000 when you can get them starting at trac from $542 to $570 pg 140-pg143 .My gun smith sed there is no diffrence except that you can get a gun cheeper and 100% american if you shop around.I was also told that you will have to drill Hawken Shop kits As well as Track's.As they guy's here say calling it a kit is misleading its more of a collection of nessicarey parts. :m2c:

Site is working, just running slow, the squirrel powered server in Washington state must be tired. Bill

When The Hawken Shop was still in St. Louis I recall that their kits were over $600, and this was in the early 80's; nice, but too pricey for me in those days.
