Here is a patch knife I made. It has got to be the ugliest knife out there... :winking:
The knife blade is a kitchen knife I got at the Goodwill for $.99. Good bargin. I made the scales from some 2X4 scrap in my garage, planed down and roughly shaped with a wood rasp. They were then stained with vinegar stain and heated with a torch. The scabbard I made from rawhide from a dog chew toy. The rawhide was sanded with varying grades of sand paper, rubbed with ashes from my wood stove and stained with some walnut stain to.
I wanted rough, ugly and obviously home made. I'm going to donate it for a trade blanket item (as if anyone would want it. :winking: )
