The stock is in really good shape But the rest is junk. I Know it's just a T/C but I wish it could talk

i'd sent it in to tc with a note saying that you cleaned the rifle with their t17 cleaning patches and used bore butter to protect the metal. :rotf:

i wonder if they'd send you a new rifle just for a good prank?

It probably could stand a new patchbox...

Actually, a good story is worth a try...

A friend was in the Peace Corps, in Africa. He was dying for some junk food. Chocolate and ice cream. So he wrote letters to M&M's and Ben and Jerry's.

M&M's sent a big box of M&M's and a note asking "Does your camel really like these?" :rotf:

Ben and Jerry's just sent t-shirts. :(

True story, NO :bull:

Awwww.....that poor rifle :(

Unfortunately, there's not much on it that could be restored, but I suppose if TC doesn't give you a new rifle, you could always hand the barrel over to your local blacksmith and perhaps get a new tomahawk, and maybe find another use for the other parts by reforging them as well :hmm:

Most of the brass could probably be salvaged and the stock may be good enough to be refinished. also the ramrod comes out and is in suprisingly good shape I doubt if any of the screws will come out though.

Now don't be a pessimist. A little 4 ought steel wool and some elbow grease and a few bore patches and that rifle will be right as can be. Rub in a few drops of stock oil and the grain will glow like new. That under rib may take some work though.... :rotf:

That looks like a challenge for Roy. :surrender: What do ya think? :haha:
Dusty

Are you guys kiddin!?!?

wipe it off.... no, wait .... don't wipe it!

Squirt some Dubya-Dee on the hammer and trigger and snap a few caps to clear the barrel and then load her up and shoot that sucker! :shocked2:

What you got there is genuine patina! :shake:

authentic 180 year old looks!

Can't even fake it better! :youcrazy:

Probably was some guys antique-ing project that just got Shang-haied! :rotf:

OK, enough funny biz. Interesting find though.

Steve

This actually serves as a good testimony of just how rugged T/C guns really are. (excusing the under rib of course)

By the way, is it still loaded?

That is a good question. :shocked2: I'll have to tell my buddy to be careful with it, the muzzle was closed about half way with rust so it could be a bomb waiting to go off!

:shocked2: :shocked2:

That should be the first thing we do in a situation like this... !!!!!

But I know it never crossed my mind.

A safety lesson for all of us.

TC might not give u a new one, but if said u lost it going to ur fish spot, and some how it tipped over but couldnt fetch it time, then after about a couple of years of determination to retrieve it, u now found it and sadly it wont be usable ever again, but they might give u a discount on another piece and ask to keep it for research purposes. i have heard this with other modern gun manufactures, but u never know, they might like it and want to give u a new one, if they like your story.

:haha: must not have shot worth a hoot.

Or, were there any big bear tracks or bear scat nearby? Maybe some scat containing a plastic whistle, small brass bell, or maybe some tinkler cones off of someone's hunting pouch?

Hey, you found my rifle ! :haha: I was wondering what happened to it :hmm: and how did it end up in Colorado  Now let me think, where did I put that warranty...... :bull:
