Thinking of getting a flinter??

Hey you guys that are thinking of going the flint route. This guy shows what a 40 cal can do to a Mellon.

.40 is my top choice for a small(er) caliber. Every one I have had just flat out performs.

Once you go flint, it’s hard to step away. Even my beloved cap and ball pistols, Enfield Musketoon and SxS stay home now. It gets in your blood and there doesn’t appear to be a cure.

I never realized just how much truth there was with in this statement.

Then I bought one, shot it, now I have 5.
It's definitely in the blood, and feels good.

I have even converted several cap locks to flintlocks. Around here for the last 20 or so years flintlocks rule.

50 balls are the easiest to find, then 54 and 45. Getting 40 balls locally is kinda hard. Of course mail order or casting fixes that.
I have 45 and 54. I do like shooting the 45 with 50G 3F the most. Low recoil, and easy on powder.
