I have some old LMF Permalyn Sealer in a jar that's gotten thick as honey. Can it be thinned with anything to make it useful again? I plan to use it on some odd jobs around the house like sealing some tool handles, so it doesn't have to be like new or "gunstock grade". Thanks.

The label on mine says clean up with mineral spirits. Put a drop of each on a plastic or ceramic plate stir and see what happens. Use the real stuff not that eco friendly junk.

Speaking of that, there seem to be several versions of those (commonly available) thinners, that all purport to do the same thing;

1.) Turpentine
2.) Mineral Spirits
3.) Paint thinner

They seem to be in that order when it comes to availability and cost too. What's the difference (apart from cost)?
