This followed me home today !

Picked this up today….
Seller called it a “trade rifle” it’s a 50cal rifled bore. Can’t find any info on the F Woods marked on the barrel ! No 8 engraved on the buttplate. Also came with a horn and a canvas bag….seems to be well put together ! Antiqued looking finish. Dusty Bore appears unfired….looks like a Chambers lock.
Any info anyone can shine would be helpful !

He also said he aquired these from the failed hbo Lewis and Clark miniseries that began production near Calgary but eventually tanked. Can’t prove that but adds some interest i guess.

Hi,
It is a Chambers lock. It looks to be a rifle styled like an English fowler. I am not sure I would call it a trade rifle.
