Nice pic. A happy lookin' bunch. :hatsoff:

What a great hunt to share with the kids. You fellers sure do glow in the dark! :rotf:

Congrats and Waidmanns Heil from GE. Hope your sons will find hunting in a few years as attractive as now so that they can become hunters, too.
What bp charge did you use and how far were the deers away? Did you make the double alone? Think so, very good. It is a doe and his yearling.

Kirrmeister,

My boys are 9 and 6, The 9 year old has already taken 2 bucks, one when he was 7, and his second one this year during youth season, both were 5 pointers.

The Little one has been hunting this year with me a lot. He is learning the ropes very fast and loves the woods as much has his older brother and Old man. He and his brother hunt with me all day long without one complaint.

My 9 year old will be passed my 45 Seneca this coming year to get him into Muzzleloading. It was my first rifle back in "79" when I was 10 years old.

We saw 15 does that day. We were hunting from the ground and was sneakin around hitting all of the doe hang outs. Made two great one shot kills using 80 grains of FFF Goex, a 490 ball with Pillow Ticking patch. We got the does about 3 hours appart. One at 40 yards and one at 75. We had a great time.

Here is a picture of my Dads Full Stock Hawken 50.

He passed it to me Thanksgiving morning. He built it using a Bill Large Barrel, Long Lock and Trigger, and the stock in which he carved out of a block that looked like a corner post when he started. Perfect assembly. It has seen a Many a Rendezvous from Missouri to Friendship. I am a Very proud man.

Hello Headhunter,

thanks for the very detailer answer and the pics. I find it great that your boys want to be with you at the hunt and that you let them go hunting with you. So I'm from GE. There this is nearly unbelievable 9 year old boys go hunting with fireweapons, they kill deers ( Bambi). The GE-Nation have a problem with this especially the urban peoples.
You can be very proud of your sons. My son is 5 years old and I want him to become a hunter, too.

Greetings from Bavaria, GE

Congratulations! Your boys are very lucky and you should be very Thankful. Yout Dad did a great job on the rifle!
