As of 12/16/07.

Pretty cool, my muzzle loader buck was one of 1289 deer taken in muzzleloader season. My muzzle loader shotgun deer was one of 188 taken in shotgun season, wonder when was the last flintlock shotgun deer taken before that? My archery deer was one of 306 taken in Archery so far. And I took one on a crop damage permit earlier in the season. Not a bad year for me.

Those are some impressive numbers Swampy, Glad to see you done your share. Good Luck & Good Shootin' :hatsoff:

Not sure, I did add another archery deer last night. The sad thing on this table is Prudence numbers. They should be somewhere between 150 and 250 animals taken from there. They did lower the quota this year to 75 Does. Only Mature Does are counted in the quota so they could and have in the past killed a lot of deer before reaching the quota. But on'y 36 animals at this point is just sad.

No Enforcement presence on it no more, it's basically a free for all for any poacher. Somehow Coyotes have established themselves on the Island. A non hunting Biologist in charge who just don't seem to have a clue and with most of the residents sick of Lyme and not being able to plant anything in their yards without fencing, I don't think it's going to recover anytime soon. I have been involved with the Island since 1980 and took deer every year except this past season. In 1980 we saw 40 to 50 deer a day easy. This past season it took us all day before we saw one. Masses of acorns layed on the ground going uneaten. I know the 80's and 90's are long gone but it is sad what it has turned into.
