Took my 20ga fusil woodcock hunting today, man was that tough! it only has a 41 inch barrel but I found every branch that could get in the way, I missed 3 then shot a grouse and then I finally got one of the little buggers. Any one else hunt woodcocks with there muskets?

congrats! Good shootin

I will when I find the time to make myself a smoothbore. :haha:

Not woodcock, but I did hunt quail last fall with my 20 ga. fusil trade gun. Will get out again in a couple of weeks to try them again. They are quick lil buggers too.

Those are tricky little buggers, much less with a flinter! Good going! :hatsoff:

It isn't in here yet, but I am gonna try to get a woodcock this fall. I know where there is a really swampy thicket that ALWAYS has 3-4.

Congrats on you harvest.
