I think I did OK at gun show today.

I was very surprised to find these on the last day of the gun show. I would of thought someone would grab them Saturday. Maybe it's a benefit of liking traditional black powder guns in a age of inlines and AR's/AK's.

Both are Pietta's. The 1858 dates 2008 and the Colt 2002. Both might be unfired. I got them for $100 each.

Boy did you ever get a deal, Good for you! I have and like both of them and am sure you will as well.
Now you need a bunch of stuff to go with them if you want to try and wear then out! :rotf:
Cappers, holsters, ball molds, powder flasks, wads, caps, powder, cleaning supplies and a good screw driver and punch set to properly break them down for interior cleaning.

Ha..MD you are so right! But I guess getting all that is half the fun! It gives me something to look for at the next gun show, estate sale, rummage sale etc. Anyone can just buy the extras a Cabela's etc...I enjoy the hunt.

I never see those kinds of deals at the gun shows I've been to. You got a great deal! Enjoy, you lucky dog.

Don

LOL...he had 6 more but they were all brass framed and I was running low on cash.

Definitely going to stop at his table again next show.

Nice! They definitely look NIB. Good going, like someone else complained, the gun shows around here NEVER have any deals especially like the one you came across.

Enjoy them!

Lucky dog you!, very nice, 100 bucks is a steal. Now go find the stuff to shoot them with and give us a range report.

Heck man, you should have just talked the guy into giving them to ya and carrying them to the car for ya! I bought a new Pietta 1860 Army back in '06 for $179, never fired it and sold it about a yr ago for $240. Congrats on one heckuva good steal, I mean deal!

I'm not a handgun guy, but your 2 gun show buys are a "steal" and are beautiful besides.

The Colt looks "sleeker" than the Remington, but the Remington is "sturdier" due to the top strap. Which is better is a question only answered by personal preference.

Staying away from the "brass framed" is wise except if you don't intend to shoot them. They also have an appeal...especially to those from the South.

Good luck w/ your future "steals".....Fred
