I went ahead and picked up some flints, a turnscrew and small vial for oil. To keep it all together I stitched up a flint wallet. Didn’t have a pattern, just looked at a picture, grabbed a soft leather (deer I think?) and some waxed linen thread. Put it together with a simple saddle stitch and in the pouch it goes.

You know what is a good source of good, cheap leather? Goodwill and those kind of donated items. I disregard the strange looks I get and pilfer through ladies' purses. Be careful about fake leather. I once found a white purse made from elk hide, thick and soft. I make my leather stuff look as authentic as possible, sometimes punching holes and using rawhide for the stitching. Lordy, I sure can get off topuic.
