I am in the market for a MSV that covers all sizes of springs... The more universal the better. I want the best I can get and don't care about the cost. Is the Tom Curran what I am looking for? What's the best out there right now? Would I still need to add another type of spring vice to cover everything I may need to do in the future? Thanks!

ps, I currently do not own a MSV nor have I ever, so I have no experience to go on.

Tom put a lot of thought into his mainspring vise and if he made it then it worked. With that said I use a style that is of the ubiquitous ones sold buy most of the black powder supply houses. I machine my own and never had an issue with its use on small to large locks, mainsprings or frizzen springs. I do make the turn screw Tee bar longer for added leverage. I don't like the small wing nuts.
