I'm doing some work for a friend and he's got a lock with the top jaw screw bent pretty badly, which leads me to two questions. I can't even back the screw out presently because of the bend. If I were to heat it with a torch, do you suppose I could back it out or should I just try to cut it off between the jaws with a hacksaw or, gasp, Dremel tool?
Assuming I get it out, obviously I need a new one. Are they mostly standard sized? This is a large Siler and I see TOTW sells a 1/4-20 top jaw screw, same thing? I have a few locks lying around that I could borrow one from (they're not large Silers) and I don't mind doing so if I know I have one ordered and on the way and that they're mostly universally sized.
