I have worked on or changed the sights on my primary rifle several times, always screwed up the browning job with the work. I tried touching up the areas with a variety of methods, nothing blended very well so I said to heck with it.
This rifle has seen hundreds of days in the woods, often being toted through thick brush and briers and has the scars to prove it. I decided that a couple of off color spots on the barrel didn't matter. It seems like the more worn my rifle gets, the better I like it.
