I really like doing business with these people. They've usually got what I want and at a reasonable price, and they ship promptly. Rated five stars plus.
I like them too and dumped a ton of money in there store but if you have a problem with a pre inlet stock one example the ramrod hole off more than 3/16 to the right so that entire length of the stock had to be plugged and remilled is unacceptable. You don’t find this out until after you finish inletting the breach plug and lock your stuck with it. I’m not alone. There Are others here who have purchased preinet stocks and have had the same problem plus. Ask them for a replacement stock pointing out all the problems with their pre inlet stock and which for the life of how there vendor could pass it of as meeting some quality standard is non existent. Seven days for returns defective or not. Unfortunately I bought several stocks from them i don’t know of any issues that wait me with the others; I’m sure they are there from talking with others. You are on your own. It’s not about skill level literally would have been better off starting from a blank as others mention. I may be a loyal customer but that doesn’t go the other way. They have a captured audience. To not make good on clearly a defective stock because it is past the return policy has me now looking elsewhere. Heck I purchased from them yesterday because they sold me a muzzle cap as part of the required accessories that dimensionally would never fit the stock. This was the cap they listed as associate part to complete the rifle. That is kind of minor but it’s your problem when you don’t find out until after you try fitting it. They no longer have an associated parts list for the Lancaster. The trigger guard also didn’t fit. They provided the combination of trigger and trigger guard like the muzzle cap. So they are well stocked but that’s about as much as i can give them after spending big money for finished rifles, stocks, parts tools and so on. I give them 2 stars most other suppliers are also comparatively cheaper.

I bought a Track Haines kit second hand that was a nightmare, I suspect if Track looked at the pre-carves they get from the "P" place with a critical eye they would send a sizable portion of them back to the pre-carver.

I like Track though; I ordered a 5/16" ramrod blank from them for my Kibler SMR, the rod that came with the kit looked like a snake and had runout from end to end, this was one of their very early kits. I filled out the instruction box on my Track order and asked them not to send me a ramrod with runout because I would be using it on a 46" barrel. They filled my order but left out the ramrod saying " we looked through our blanks and didn't find one that met your specifications". They could have sent me junk but didn't, good people.

Fortunately, Dan Putz was still in the ramrod business at the time, I looked up his address, ordered a handful of ramrod blanks and got absolutely perfect blanks in short order.

My experience with them is that they are better and easier to deal with over the phone than they are if you show up there in person. The exception was Greg, but he unfortunately passed away a few years ago.

Bought some flints and other items without any issues, they seem to be a good outfit to trade with.

They helped me too yesterday when I went to try to find a muzzle cap that fit LOL! They were well aware of the problem had no answer as to why they listed it as an associated part though he said it would be hit or miss with whatever I buy because the caps are made to fit the barrel not the stock. I guess I’m the only one that doesn’t build custom muzzle caps. LOL. When I got that stock originally I was wow this cool i letting the barrel would have taken me a long time. Right off the barrel was set to far forward. Hard to determine its off until you finish inlet the butt plug. That’s when you realize the touch hole is going to end up in the threads of the butt plug! Just notch it 😂. Then the push rod. Then one side haphazardly cut with waves via the band saw. I would think most would like to work from a square piece of stock. The parts they sell are no different than others but I did find two other shops that had nicer more traditional Lancaster trigger guards and at better prices. I love October Country they sell what I think are the nicest flint lock covers that they make from horse blankets in various lengths and colors and a bunch of other.

Track of the Wolf ain't bad ... I get my ramrods from can their place now though , half the cost and very straight grain hickory ... but I have had a few bad experiences with Track ....I only buy three items from them now every 12 months . Gotta look around and see who can serve you best .

My recent experience with TOW and ordering ramrod tips when I didn't know what I needed was that they not only knew what I needed, but that they offered to make me one to my exact spec by tapering another stock one because they didn't have the exact size I needed.
