With winter set in here pretty good, it's time to start my trade blanket projects.
With not yet attending my first rendezvous, I would like some input on trade blanket ideas so my winter work hopefully pleases a fellow buckskinner this summer. I've already made up a ball bag and small possible's bag but am looking for other ideas or things you like to see on a trade blanket or available for a prize at a shoot.

gereral rule of thumb...
typicly valued at 10 bucks or more,
usually home made
it is something you would use
event related (shooting, rondy, camp)
cast iron...NOT good

but most importantly, is it something you yourself would be happy with IF you won it!

lead not so good either, cant prove the source/content

one item I see that is always a "first" pick is....
a simple 1x12x8 ft pine board from homedepot/lowes that has had hinges, a latch and handles added to it, transforming it into a shooting/range box. final cost is about 15 bucks, no major machining involved. these go fast!
bottom, sides and top are dimension, front and back added to make a solid box, top is then cut on the table saw so you get about a 2 1/2 deep lid and the balance is the "box. put the hardware on it and you are basicly done.

...an idea

Little drawstring bags are always welcome. Leather cappers for the capgun set. Flint wallets go well. Some beeswax candles. Antler powder measures. I usually get rid of surplus leather scraps on the blanket.
