I have a Traditions Buckbuster 50 cal. 1/48 twist,Cap. I cant find any specs on it anywhere. The rifle was bought used. The wood is in great shape no dings. Has buckhorn sights. The inside of the barrel seems to be neglected but other than that it seems to be in pretty good shape.
If any one has any info on this rifle it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Here goes, I hope I can post the pics. Looks like they will go. Notice there is not a wedge. the barrel is held on by the screw that is under the forarm. Beautiful rifle good wood, barrel can probley be salvaged. I cant find it mentioned on the net but twice with no words about it and both were on line Auctions.

In the few books I have and one is the 5th edition Blue Book,,, There is nothing stating your rifle..

Here is Traditions information for you to call and ask them, if they can send you some on it..

I had a question about an odd-ball Traditions model last year, and sent Traditions an e-mail query.

Seems they produced a number of short production runs with different names for various retailers. They responded to my e-mail in two days with lots of info about the gun in question, including the dates of manufacture, the original retailer, and the retail price at the time of manufacture. Great customer service.

Give them a try at [email protected]

Thanks guys. I will e-mail them again. I e-mailed them last week and havent heard from them. But the e-mail I sent didnt start with (info) either. I will also call them. Thanks for the information. Worst case is if the barrel is messed up I was hopeing to be able to get a new one. Then the rifle would be almost brand new as the stock and lock are well kept. I bought it from a pawn shop and I guess before whom ever turned it over he/she did not clean it. As soon as I find my inspection lite I will have a better idea of where the barrel stands. I'm hopeing when its all said and done I just need to re-blue the barrel.

AFAIK, the only other Traditions rifle
that had that barrel attachment method
was the Fox River Fifty, so those barrels
might work.
The Fox River Fifty also had the same
single trigger and trigger guard, but
it had a straight grip stock instead
of a pistol grip, the rear sight
wasn't adjustable and the barrel wasn't
drilled and tapped for scope mounting.

OK, I called Traditions this morning and.....
The lady said she is sending me the manual and the specs on the rifle. The last 2 digits of the serial number are the year the rifle was made. which is 1995. I ask if it would be possible if need be to get a replacement barrel and she did'nt know but offered to patch me through to someone whom might know. I declined as I want to wait untill I can inspect and shoot the rifle to make a decision on that. Had the barrel been taken care of it would almost look like new. Looking at the muzzle closer it looks like the crown took a beating on the bottom side also. I was wondering with shots up to about 75 yards only would that make a differnce? I've owned a few Black Powder rifles, some new some used. But none with the condition this barrel is in and I'm thinking it may not be as bad as I would make it out to be. I would like to think he/she let it go to buy an inline. Their loss my gain.
Thanks again for the help, phone number, email address and the advice. It might be a bit before I can let the smoke out of her, I'll let you know how it goes when I do.
