Hunted all my life without the use of a trail cam. A few years ago I finally purchased one. I must say, I really like them. Still kill the same amount of critters as I did before using a trail cam but its nice to see the pics nonetheless.
I also didn't use them for a long, long, time. I started using them as a way to monitor human activity around my treestand locations as it isn't uncommon here for stand to get stolen. (Also not uncommon for trail cameras to get vandalized)
I have found I greatly enjoy seeing the other wildlife activity. Also, it seems to be a good monitor of whether or not human activity has changed deer/turkey activity around the stand location. I'm not an antler hunter, but I figure if nice bucks are still coming around after I've been there, or the mushroom hunters and dog walkers come through, the stand location is still okay, can't have disturbed it too much.

I look at the cameras as a hobby of its own. I’ve never really figured out how to use them to my advantage but I enjoy the pictures and videos. I’ve got 7 cell cams out now and 2 more ready to go.

I don't think having a deer cam out has helped me in any way as far as actually harvesting any deer. It has been more entertaining than any thing else. I love this picture because the one on the left looks like he is totally out classed here.

Thinking of getting a pair of trail cams for my front and rear porches. I have seen a groundhog and an excessively large possum in the fenced back yard. And with two dogs and 4 cats, I'll prob get quite a few pix of them.
Being severely "motion" limited, I'd like to be able to see vandals, etc., as they approach my home. Just need to conceal the cameras a bit - make up some new woodwork, paint it to match.

Not trail cam (now illegal to use for hunting or scouting in AZ?) but took these yesterday at my tank. Last day of season. 2 lil cous (white tail) does came in at 10:30. These weigh about 50-60 lbs. Blew a opportunity on a decent buck at 4:00 as I shot too fast with the lil voice in the head saying "he's gonna bolt...SHOOT". Never again. Rather not shoot than miss. Taken from my ground blind

What part of AZ are you in? I’ve been to Phoenix a few times because my daughter is in med school there. I like to visit but it’s so different from VT that it feels like going to the moon.

This was on the sycamore canyon rim between Flagstaff and Sedona in Unit 6B. Lots of canyons n stuff RUGGED. Do NOT wanna get lost and wander here. But full of game and close. 30 Mile from my driveway but 48 min (driving too fast) on washboard roads and they can see the dust from the space station LOL. AZ not all desert!

Curious how this new law would be interpreted if the camera was pointed at one's treestand. That is the reason I started using them after over 30 years of hunting without them, to watch my stands because of thieves.
Then I found I also very much enjoy watching all the other wildlife activity as a bonus.
