All,

What is the difference between using these to different type to finish your flintlock.....? Does it come down to gloss verse non gloss look..... Would love to know.....

I bought the Original Wood Finish and it was VERY slow to set up. I gave it away to a fellow that does wood turning, he hasn’t said anything to me about it yet.

Varnish is a non-permeable seal. Once applied that's it. Oil can be refreshed from time to time and gets better and better with each application.

They are both satin to dull, both take months to dry, and neither are water or chemical resistant. Other than that, they are great. I've done several in the varnish oil and got just what I wanted, ymmv.
