I just figured it up and if i get a 12 lb turkey this spring the cost per lb will be right around $87. New fowler to go turkey hunting, $725, flints, wads, powder, mould, $90, new turkey call and hen decoy, $25, license and turkey tag, $61.75, new frock coat, hunters shirt, drop front trousers, wool leggings, hunters hat, $150, satisfaction from doing it all with PC gun and attire, priceless. For some things there are money, for others there is just the joy of doing. Good thing you can't put a Price on Fun.

WRONG ---- Rebel --- thats what it costs to hunt. If you get a turkey----- its free. :winking: Best of luck though. (had about 25 hens and 7 gobblers in my yard yesterday. If you want one of these come on over)

Rebel, turkey can't be that cheap... you forgot to count fuel for the truck... a little bottle of medicinal for cellabratin after.. and at least a dozen other stuff.
I'm in the sport fishing business and a few years ago the province figgured out one large chinook salmon brings in $1200.00 to the local economy. I've had a few trips like that. :rotf:

Are you an accountant or book keeper? Have hunted for 65 yrs. and have never even thought of any of the associated costs pursuing "my first love", the exception of course, being my wife. We started as "poor people" but my hunting somehow was affordable, and even then the costs were not a consideration. Later on as we "lucked out" financially, nobody in the family thought to quantify in dollars the pleasure derived from either hunting or fishing. This isn't an admonition but just curious as to why the "cost factor" surfaced. Probably in jest? Happy hunting........Fred

just think Rebel you get one turkey and she's all paid for!! :rotf:

i just tell the little lady it is healthier and more expensive to eat free range critters....ah heck, she knows i can't help it anyways.

No, no Rebel you can't look at it like that!

The psychyatrist bill would be $5k if you didn't get that fowler and get out to unwind. So, the turkey hunt and fowler is actually saving you money. You better buy 2 turkey tags and save even more. :haha:
