Turkey hunting with hhandguns

Has anyone tried hunting turkeys with handguns? Indiana allows it, but the gun must be smoothbore, 50 caliber or larger, with a barrel 12" long, shooting shot no larger than #4,s. My oldest son had such a gun made and will likely try it this year. Inquiring minds want to know. Keep yer powder dry..........robin :hmm:

What a shame we cannot use an 1851 in .36 caliber.

Very interesting. I’ve seen people claim the Pedersoli Howdah to be worthless despite being 20 ga. Wondered about a Lyman Plains Pistol being reamed to 28 ga and used for small game but was likewise told it would be worthless.
