I'm looking for a recipe for a turkey jerky, what I need to know is should I pre cook the turkey before I marinate it?

"Jerking" meat is the process of drying it, to preserve it.

If you cook meat, it's never going to be "jerky", it's now cooked meat.

I just slice the raw turkey beast into about 3/8" pieces and sprinkle with plain salt, coarse black pepper and a little garlic powder on both sides of meat and put in glass bowl over night in refrigerator. Next morning, rinse off each piece with cold water and pat dry with paper towels and lay piece's in dehydrator racks and turn on machine. Usually takes 8-10 hours until ready to eat. Yes, I do freeze or at least refrigerate bagged jerky for storing!
