This year for Turkeys, I will use my cva trapper. I was hoping to pick up some hints on loads to use. It has a chrome lined barrel and is modified choke. Thanks Mark/Wi

Try 90 gr of Goex 2f powder, an over powder wad, a plastic shotcup, (i know, not traditional, but gives atighter pattern unless you make paper shotcups), about 1 3/8 oz of shot which would be setting your powder measurer to 100gr and using that to load the shot, and an oveshot wad. This will give you a starting point. You can adjust powder and shot to get the bast pattern. I would also reccomend CCI Magnum caps and a Hot Shot nipple on the Trapper. I had one of them and had a lot of ignition problems until i switched to them.

Rebel, Thanks for passing that info on to me. I have the CCI magnum caps and the hot shot nipples. Now all I need is the weather and work to get together so I can get out and shoot.

Last season I spring gobbler hunted with my T/C Black mountain mag. 12 ga. side lock and killed a nice mature gobbler using...
95grs. blk. pwdr. one thin over powder card one t.c. felt cushion wad 100grs by volume nickle plated 6's 20grs by volume nickle plated no. 4's and 1 thin overshot card..rem. no. 11cap.

This season I'll be using this flintlock (my first build..so hope it shoots)..I just about have it finished and will then have to work up some loads. Kit from Pecatonic No.2 stock,
20ga. Virginia with Chambers Large Siler, front & rear sights, 36" oct. to round barrel.

Yes, she certainly looks like she'll shoot! No problemo I believe!!

I'm very much looking forward to Turk season, have lots of new good places to hunt this year on private land, so it's looking good.

I'll be using the Bloody Bess...just the flash from her pan will kill a turk.

Gonna try using decoys this year.
