Took possession of my 58 Rice barreled 38" Leman from Matt Avance..It came a week ago but never had a chance to put some pics up..Killer piece of wood pics just doesn't do it justice.Weighed her with a dgital scale and she tops out at 8 1/2 lbs.Had her out last week and on taget 1 inck low at 50 with no adjustments, now to work a load ..LOL,did get pinched from the top of the buttplate w/85 grains of black when I got lazy off the bench.Used to call my other flinter Thumper but guess this gun is now the new Thumper..Some without sun, some in the sun, gonna mess around and get more pics in the coming week..Toni was a joy to work with and appreciate her and Matt and Richards help..Ray

Wow, a great looking piece of wood, great looking rifle...Matt does a great job !
:hatsoff:

Forgot the lock is a Chambers Late Ketland with the tail end rounded off..Lock worked great many dry fires plus 23 shots engish flint razor sharp still...Gun has regular breech and I gotta say she's as fast as my TC Hawken w/patent breech and newer mods plus my lock and touchole work that I have done..I knew my TC was fast but this combo is as if not faster! No misfires as of yet..Ray

I like it almost to pretty to shot   enjoy

Ray, noticing the single lock bolt, was wondering if that is something unique to the Lehman design, or a personal choice sort of thing, etc

Think one bolt is pretty much standard on Lemans.Mike Burnsides' Leman had two on his, think maybe it was a personal choice..My lock fits well as is and is easy enough to remove plus with no front screw less worry about ramrod fit.It amazes me how slender looking my gun is compared to my TC's,does not feel like a big bore rifle until you look at the muzzle or touch her off .Worked my set trigger adjustment down to a nice crisp pull should make it better next time out at the range especially off hand....Ray

Well, as the old saying goes, if it'll shoot half as good as it looks you got yourself a winner for sure...and deer season will be here before you know it

Thanks Mike, coming from you that means a lot.Roundball,1 1/2 groups at 50 yrds already and that is with a tear or two with my patch/lube combo, gonna try a few more this week then file her down to bring it up a bit when I hit the magic spot...Ray

Very nice looking rifle. The artificial striping job that they did looks almost real. (Heeee, Heeeeeee; just kidding).

The Leman is my favorite rifle. I may have to order one. I'm glad you were able to get the Chambers lock.

LOL,in real life no artist could even come close  .Mark, the late Ketlaand was my first choice instead of the L&R..Matt took care of me on the rounding of the rear of the lock, this one was the same price as their flint L&R option.Ray

Ray, that is one nice looking rifle! At 8-1/2# and 38" you must have the straight barrel? I can see where that buttplate could bite if you got a little careless cradling it.

Straight barrel it is.Was a little worried on its weight was pleasantly suprized when I checked it.A hair front heavy but she really hangs well and steady off hand.My TC Hawken 50 with greem mt barrel and solid brass ramrod tip the scales at 11 1/2 lbs so this gun should be a joy to carry hunting and hold longer when I shoot at woodswalks.Gonna get her out to the range this week for some more tuning.Ray
