Hello

Recently I purchased both the Rifles Pictured.

The top Rifle is German of origin and the lower one French.

The German has a bore of 51 Caliber measured over the lands of a slug cast in the bore with a 1/60" Rifling twist.

The French boasts a .60 caliber bore and a 1/47" twist.

Going from the twist rates am I correct in concluding I should shoot .58 and .50 Cal patched round balls respectively?

Absolutely. Its likely they have deep grooves too. Nice thing is they'll do quite nicely with lighter charges, for plinking and general gooferie.
Go on capandball YouTube. He shoots regular and repop jaegers with impressive results.

Thank you for your helpful reply! I hope to hunt in Hungary later this year. It would be great to take one of these Rifles.
