I have just recently added a new bullet to my M/L collection. The 54 Lyman Shocker bullet.I've tried in vain to purchase a mold for it, but I did find a source for the bullet. The price is rather steep (18.00)for 50 bullets, but I don't plan on using them to plink with  At 445 Gr. it should fill the bill for Elk.I know the 54 round ball has taken many, but I like the extra "UMPH" this big slug will bring to the hunt.

(I hate it when the images don't come through) I'll keep trying!!!

$18 for 50 is actually a pretty fair price considering todays market. Retailers sell 20 bullets for $20-25 depending on the type.

Where is your source? I've been interested in the shockers but could never find any.

I dont use anything but PRB in my MLs, but cant argue with a good conical if that is your preference either. Have used a .45-70 (suppository gun  )with 200gr to 600gr conicals to good effect on various game. Good hunting.

You can google up...Larry's sporting goods of Sutherlin, Oregon. That will take you to his web site. Larry gets the Shocker Bullets from someone local here. My 50 cal Renegade loves the shocker, and I've have been shooting them in my 54 Hawken with denim patches, and getting some deer killing groups out of it.

I would think the 54 bullets will do even better.
