Howdy folks,

Has anyone ever managed to successfully receive the Uberti 1858 Target Model that Dixie offers for $250? I paid considerably more than that for mine. I'm needing another and have had it on order for weeks now.

I've had a number of people in the past tell me that they are ALWAYS back ordered and nobody has received one. From the constant back order status I've seen for months, and the weeks I've spent waiting, I'm tempted to believe them. What gives? Many other places can get them.

supply and demand. if the manufacturer has no demand for a model they will waite to make a larg run. also some makers don't like selling to some suppliers for reasons unknown to me.

Plink as far as I know Uberti does not make a target model...there's none in the Uberti Catalog and I couldn't find one in the Dixie catalog or on line. Pietta makes an 1858 Target with adjustable sites 8" bbl., and Euroarms makes one also.

Smokin Gun, Dixie has it listed as item SS1180. Taylors shows (if memory serves) the 430c as the stainless model and 430ct as the stainless target model with adjustable sights. It's almost identical to the Pietta except the front sight and the latch are dovetailed to the barrel.

I have found it on a couple other sites also. Midway has it listed for $389. I have one I bought at the gun show a few years ago, but I have yet to find any other online dealer under about $330 or so and money is tight at the moment. I was hoping Dixie's $250 price would be a deal, but if they aren't going to ship, it's not much of a deal.

Plink did Uberti make them in Blued also? Found it in Dixie thanks...$250's a real good price.
Nice lookin' Rev. The Pietta is dovetail from front to back and held in with a screw. Is that what Uberti does also?

Smokin Gun, I don't remember having seen them in Blued. Taylor's might be the place to look, as they had them in a number of finishes. I'm mostly wanting one to send in to Big Iron Barrels for a bit more horsepower.

As for dovetailed in and screwed, I'd hafta dig it from the back of my safe. I haven't shot it in months now and I don't remember offhand.

"Dovetailed from the front to the back and screwed in". I have one, and the durn thing is crooked too! I'll have to figure a way to straighten it out someday.
It's also blued.
