In recently examining my percussion revolvers from their boxes I noticed the Uberti Rem 44's box has a Taylors lablel marked "Forged frame" I also have a Uberti Rem 36 and that box just

says "steel frame". I bought both of these several years ago. I know the difference between forged and cast steel but are all Itailian percussion revolver frames forged or are some cast?

I'm pretty sure Uberti has forged open-top frames as well as Remingtons.

My stainless Remington has a seam around the interior of the grip frame, so I'm guessing it's cast.
