That chart is good info! BP is 2001 and NOT blackpowder

That's right. The BP stamp in the box is the proof stamp. The PN (Polvere Nero) is the stamp for black powder (or black powder substitute) only.

Here's a chart that even lists future years codes as well.

Not quite. In 2020 they started using '20' and here in 2021 new guns have a '21' code.
If the pattern holds up, next year in 2022 they're going to revert to using Morse code dots-and-dashes.

You're right @Dashing Leper, I've seen new guns with the 20 or 21 on them. Well, disregard after '19 everyone...
