Any one who has any underhammer lock plans I would be interested in seeing them or if you have any links for on the web. I have been to the Blue Grouse one. I would like a lock designed with coil springs if possible but would consider flat springs as well. I am aware of Logan's Book on the underhammer but the local library cannot get it for me due to state budget cuts. They may be able to get it from a school in the fall but that is long to wait and maybe if any of you have read it you could tell me if it will help me or not? Jim

jh45gun,,

any particular type of UH your going for?? There are a lots of different ways to go about it. I've built an gun based loosely on the H&A style of underhammer. The only difference is there are no pins running through the frame..

Let me know where you think your headed and I'll see if I can be of any help..

Metalshaper my guns will be a bit different as they will be in full stocks with the wood cut away for the hammer to travel to the nipple and the trigger and hammer mounted in and set in the stock like a set trigger would be. I am open to looking at differnt styles to see what will work. a set up with internal springs (flat or coil) instead of the triggergard spring and the hammer and trigger pivoting on the bottom plate would probably work. I did find some info in a muzzle blast article Oct 2001 by Robert Mims and Fred Stutzenberger that gave me some ideas but I bet there are more out there I just need to find them or help finding them. :) Any info you could send me or post would be appreciated. Jim

Wulf on sending pictures and drawings the easiest way I know how is to scan them on to your computer or a digital camera and use a photo storage area. I use http://www.imagestation.com. Once my pictures are stored there I click on the picture to bring it up and then right click on it to bring up the pop up window that list properties on the bottom of the list. I left click on properties and when that window comes up in the middle it will tell the address (URL) of the picture. I highlight that by running my cursor over it and when it is highlighted I right click the mouse and hit copy. Then I go to the forum I want to post the pic on and left click on image either a window will pop up that you can paste the URL in to by right clicking in the space provided or a
