While looking for info on another subject I found my copy of the early years of Muzzle Blasts. Very interesting and hard to stop perusing. Anyhow, another thread about characteristics of different moulds made one particular article catch my attention. For the record, I'm not sure it would be OK to copy an article or photos from that book, it might still be protected by NMLRA. Enneyhow, this how-to article showed a very clever homemade mould. It is simply a small bench vise with round ball cavities hogged out with a cherry. It had a sprue cutter on top with a drilled hole to fasten and allow it to swing. I'll try to get permission and post a pic later. BTW, the article said the new vice cost 43 cents. :shocked2: Old article.
