I bought this thinking it was a French model 1777 with an earlier lock but it's not that though they did copy a lot of the French features. The barrel has a Belgian ELG mark but their copies of French muskets typically have a rounded trigger guard end. The end of the barrel is a different color and has no bayonet lug or sight. Could have been from a previous cleaning or someone stretched the barrel (if they did they did a good job of it). The Italian Piedmont muskets are the closest I can find. They have the earlier style lock with vertical engraved lines behind the cock with more modern features. It should make someone a good project but it's not interesting to me. $200 plus shipping from 24426 Covington VA. I accept PayPal, Venmo, Zelle, check or money order
