Since the question pops up from time to time heres a couple pics of tools I have made. Old files are something I always seem to have. After a file is slower to cut wood and brass I use them on steel. When they too worn for steel I do this.
These are my barrel inletting tools

I use scapers mostly for the final fitting.

Here are just some other files that just needed to be shaped a bit different for the job at hand.

The double handed rasp I made originally to help inlet the wall gun barrels, but I use it now for shaping up the stock. Works well on the push or the pull and does not tear up the hands, only the wood. :winking:

Roy - Nice tools! Got a few like them. Can you describe and show your wall gun? Got any pictures? Thanks, GC

This is the only photo I have right now on hand. I have a lot more pics of building it somewhere. Anyway its an Ed Rayl barrel 54" long 1" rifled bore. All of the castings are from TRS. This was the first of two wallguns that I have done.
