Anything worth checking out in the area. Going there for a few days next week.

I got a huge itch for a new southpaw gun.

History, gun shop with custom muzzleloaders, etc......

Colonial Williamsburgh,CW,just up the road. Down town Norfolk BB-64, USS Wisconsin, Stationed,USN, there for 19 years, could not find a gun shop, builder, except CW. Mariners Museum, New Port News, is interesting.

A second for Colonial Williamsburg and the Mariners Museum in Newport News. Yorktown Battlefield has a new museum, and well south of the tourist beach area, is the Military Aviation Museum with a large group of flying condition WWI & WWII planes (1341 Princess Anne Rd. VA Beach). Clay Smith (custom gunsmith & consignment muzzleloaders) is in Williamsburg - check his website for guns on hand. The research library at Colonial Williamsburg allows visitors in the stacks & you can check to see which books might be worth getting a personal copy.

Colonial Williamsburg is #1
Yorktown Battlefield (Nat'l Park Service)is also a good site.

The Yorktown museum and model encampment is not yet complete, but will be this spring. It is open, but under construction.

I visited both the Yorktown museum and encampment and the Nat'l Park Service battlefield last month - great trip. Visited CW last February for Washington's Birthday - another great trip.

Bull Run Muzzle Loaders in Centreville (2.5 hours away) has a muzzle loader shoot on February 19 (a Sunday). We sometimes have guys who drive from as far off as VA Beach.
