I was working on one of my old cheap muzzleloader the other night and had it in a wood vise to remove the breech when I guess I torqued to much and the wood broke sending the barrel to the floor bouncing a bit.

All I could find was a few scratches none on the crown or any other important parts. I am wondering whether this will kill the barrel or not?

As much as we love our guns, don't worry. Most of them aren't alive. :: ::

I wouldn't worry about it. About the worst thing that could happen is to bend the barrel tang (if it has one), knock the sights out of position, or ding up the finish.

If it just dings up the finish, if it's someone elses barrel, it "adds character to it".
If it's your own barrel, it helps you remember some of those words your mom would wash your mouth out for saying. :curse: :curse: :curse: Which in turn, turns the air in your shop the most beautiful shade of blue! :)

To be safe, run a patch down her and see if there is any deformation that might cause a hangup of the rammer. you'll feel better knowing it's all the same on the inside!
