Bob1961, That deer isn't moving. Better make sure Rick(Gobbler) didn't put that there to trick you and get your heart racing. I can imagine coming home from midnight shift and seeing that in your yard. I wouldn't be able to sleep for at least 20 minutes. :haha:

What? Me, be sneaky? I wouldn't think of it!
That does remind me of the time I had Memorex deployed. I was walking back to the vehicle after sitting him out and a rifle went off. It scared the bejesus out of me! Before I could react, another shot went off and I was huntin' for some cover! I couldn't believe that I didn't hear the car coming!
Anyway, I collared the guy as he was chambering another round. He looked up, saw me walking purposefully toward him, continued trying to put another round in the chamber, and eventually took aim for the last shot. I reached him before he could pull the trigger again.
I was in uniform and he admitted to seeing me but thought I was another hunter who was possibly trying to "steal his deer." His tunnel vision was so intense that he did not recognize me for who I was. His first question?
"Do you think I could walk down there to see if I hit it while you're doing the paperwork?"
Poachers- They're what's for supper!

He didn't know if he hit it? I find that disturbing on some level. Of course if he was caught in NY prior to that I know he wouldn't have hit anything we after resighted his gun for him. :haha: :winking:

Yep, they get a custom bore-sighting with every apprehension. This guy also took offense when I radioed another unit asking for seizure tags. It seems he thought I was having some fun at his expense because he was an epileptic. When I explained I was seizing his firearm for evidence, he got a chuckle out of it.

Rick

Gobbler, epileptic, seizure. You guys in uniform crack me up. Sounds like something for the PA Game News magazine. I'll have to ask our local officer, Jon Zuck, if he can top that one.
