Selling another safe queen to fund a want. 45 cal, 33” 5/8” flat non swamped barrel with approx 3/4 twist in overall length. Unknown barrel maker. W.T Cochran lock. Solid tang breech. Stunning stock. Nice German silver embellishments. 13-3/4” LOP to front trigger. Set up as a set trigger. 10-1/2 lbs on a postal scale. I have had this one for 10-15 years and never shot it. It has been shot but is in excellent condition.

Safe queens only preserve for the next owner! A gun writer once said in his column that he doesn't collect anything that he won't actually shoot. There's a place for "original box and papers" for investors, I guess.

I hadn’t planned on making this one a safe queen. I picked it up from a buddy that then passed away. In the meantime I pretty much stopped hunting deer and concentrated on elk. In Colorado there is a 50 cal requirement for elk so it became a memory piece for my buddy.

I was just thinking if the barrel is 33” and you got 3/4 of rotation then 1/4 of rotation would be at 11” If you added another 1/4 of rotation in 11 more inches o it would be a 1/44 twist All in all general measurements so that’s why I thought close to 1/48. I think I’m correct in figuring. Darn nice looking rifle may I add, I’m definitely tossing it around!
