got this today its west ozy lace she oak its 45" long 4" wide and 3/4" thick cost me $8.00 will make some nice knife scales.

Hi Windwalker au, what have you got in mind for that gorgeous peice of timber? My wheelright uses a similar figured Aussie oak species in his work where he can as it is outstanding when finished, Regards, Peter B.

heres a piece with red mahogany stain on it.

:thumbsup: That's some very nice wood. I have some I got from Woodcraft Store here in the states. They always seem to have lots of different woods available.

I think it looks impressive with and without the stain.
Since you have a whole board,it seems like you will have enough to do handles with lots of different stains and with none at all..be sure to show us some of your finished work :thumbsup:
