Well, it's a beautiful gun, and the maker is first-rate, so I would imagine that the $2500.00 price has something to do with it.
 
It's a little on the chubby side, the barrel is buried in the wood, it's stocked in maple, and the file work on the tail of the lock is a little farby.
Other thatn that it's perfect..... :winking:
 
I suspect that if one were going to pay that price for a "correct" replica of a French fusil, they would want the right wood, lock, and barrel just to name a few things.....if one likes high priced fantast guns then it may have someone interested.
 
Nice looking gun but my wife would hang me by my short hairs if I spent that much on a muzzle loader. :(
