What do you use for a capper?

The ones I use for my rifles won't fit the revolvers. Is there a capper made for revolvers?

Not that I know of. I have read of pistols being modified so that they work. I cap mine bu hand and it's not much slower than the rest of the procedure. Geo. T.

I have a capper, but I just use it as a magazine for caps. I put them on by hand.

There are many different kinds of cappers for revolvers.

I use the Ted Cash, Universal Straight Line Capper for my Pietta Remington New Model Army and ASM Pocket Police.

I have a Ted Cash brass pistol capper. It holds LOTS of caps. Don't remember if it takes a whole tin or not. The capping end is angled so you can get into a revolver nipple recess. It also works for rifles. There are other cappers made for pistols as well but I like this one.

You are correct the Ted Cash inline capper is the one for revolvers.

Google TDC inline capper and it's the one next to the bottom. 12slc-2 or something like that.

It's similar to the one "cynthialee" shows except it's tapered in both directions where the cap comes out, and puts the cap in the center, and protruds out farther.

I use this one by Ted Cash on my Colt repo's. Holds 100 caps and works really well. It fits right over the nipples and you can push them on well.

My son bought a traditions capper for his 1858 pietta, after 3 minuts with a flat file it worked perfect. I just filed the end of the capper off a little.

i just learned a really cool, non-PC way to cap my 1858 remi. BIC pen, pull insert, pull ink filler out, stuff patch material in the hole. invert 5 caps, pick them up with the insert one at a time, put on nipple, repeat. take pen with plastic cap, push all 5 caps down on nipples, shoot. repeat. takes 3 seconds, no fuss, no muss.

I just use my fingers.
The one capper (inline type) that works on my ROA doesn't always work that well, and at times I've had caps turn sideways.
I've thought about a Ted cash snail capper...

I use a Cash capper - holds 24 caps #10 size.
works good.
I load and cap all cylinders then firmly but gently push the hammer down onto the caps with the muzzle pointed down.
this seals the caps against the weather and insures the hammer strike busts the caps.

I use the same and as of two years of use it has a nice patina.I beleive its called the " Riflemans Capper" I like it and would not hesitate to recommend it to others. I also have an inline capper, but I don't care for it nearly as much as the riflemans.

You can just dump a tin of caps in, shape it around a bit so most caps turn right side up and you're set for a full day of shooting or even several days. Do you use these types on Remington revolvers or just Colts?

Bought an inline capper when i bought my pietta navy. Tried it a few times, but it seems to be a little less aggravating just to use my fingers. Now i just use the capper as a magazine. Plus, i was originally useing #10 caps on my revolver, but switched to #11 with just a little pinch of the cap before installing. Causes the cap to dissingegrate a little more after firing so it doesn't fall into the pistol and jam the hammer
