Fred,

Since you are a specialist and highly knowledgeable about Bucks County guns, and those are not well understood, have you ever thought about writing a book or specialty piece about them? Of course, as you've said, they aren't often built, and the trickiest parts of them are in making the entry pipe tails.

Yes, not seeing is a terrible terrible affliction. I just had cataract surgery Monday for my first eye. The difference in my eyesight almost made me cry it was so dramatic. I went from 20/250 in that eye, to 20/25. Quite a color shift too. Next one is in 2 weeks. That eye isn't as bad. 20/70, but it's my dominant eye.
Hi Dave.....would have sent you an e-mail but changed to Windows 10 and haven't got it right as yet.

Don't think a book would be the way to go on building a Bucks County LR....Eric Armstrong has published a paper on original BCs and although its main concern is historical, his pics go a long ways to guide a builder who chooses the BC style.

My BCs , as some have pointed out, are not correct as far as the carving , but are correct in all other respects.....they have all the features of a BC LR that's styled after Shuler's LRs. The excuse for my carving is that I don't like the carving on the original BCs.

Just sent another {13th} tracing of the BC buttstock templet that came from a pic of an original Shuler BC which has both a curved combline and toeline.

If someone wants a list of the BC features, I can provide that along w/ a pic of each feature...free of charge.

Glad to hear your eyesight greatly improved after the operation....and wishing you luck on the 2nd. As soon as I get the e-mail setup going, will send you one. …..Fred

I still think this is a good idea. If not a book per se, something to share your knowledge of the style and how it is constructed.

All the best to you.
