Hi,
I'm new to the forum but, wanted to get opinions on my gun.
What I've got here is what I believe to be a Belgium gun. The only markings on it are E L G. It has an octagonal barrel with a trigger release bayonet. All mechanisms on the gun are in good working condition. I was told this might be called a "boarding gun?"
I interested in anything that anyone has to say.
Thanks,
soonertom

I reckon it's a civilian pocket pistol with a spring bayonet from around 1850, not uncommon unfortunately.

Do you pull on the trigger bow to release?

best regards

Squire Robin

The E L G does look like a Belgian Proof mark.
I think the pistol is too small to be a "boarding gun" and agree with Robin, it is most likely a pocket pistol.

zonie :)
