Never seen anything like this. Anyone know what it is?
Then the bar would be som sort of cocking lever.with the drum, I'd argue not a Mule ear? Muleys have the nipple straight into the barrel..
Looking I'd say its kinda of a sideways Carleton action ( normally Underhammer ) evidence the slight wear just above the one set of engravings? Slide the striker straight back and the action goes from there?? could be wrong
Absolutely, when I get it in here. I'll photo and document everything so we can see how this thing ticks. You're right it is cool and someone spent a lot of time on it. I would like to know who that someone is. We may never know.my guess is you won a one of a kind. really interesting.
Please photo document that entire action. let us know the lock time.
all i can say is it's cool!
Looks like a custom "mule ear", pic not very clear.WELL!! I threw a bid in on it and I was the only one to do so, SO its mine I reckon. . I still don't know WTH it is . It has a T/C Hawken barrel. I've never seen a wooden trigger guard. And I don't think that is the factory breech plug. Neat looking rifle I guess.
There is nothing to grasp on the hammer to **** it so I’m guessing the lever along the tang is a cocking lever..but I’m still waiting for my call from the Nobel Committee..Never seen anything like this. Anyone know what it is?
I’ve learned it is best to read the fine print BEFORE bidding. The Auction house I got this is ABSURD with their shipping. 80 bucks to ship this rifle, 50 for handguns and 100 for Muskets. I think its robbery. This on top of the buyers premium just drives what you thought was a good deal through the roof. Anyway, just had to vent.
