I think your carvings continue to improve with every new sample! As your muscle memory continues to develop you will keep getting better. I ran into the same situation carving leather. My first attempts were not anything I want to show anybody, but I continued to practice to where it started to become more of a natural skill and I learned how to correct/fix mistakes, but it has taken me a few years to get to where I am and I still have a lot to learn. Enjoy the learning process and at some point you will feel comfortable carving on your $500 stock! Thanks, I did endeavor to persevere and did some more. But I sure would hate for that to end up on my Woodsrunner stock. Long ways the go.
That was shot from the bench, Polecat, bag at the back, rest at the front. I sometimes pull some surprising targets off-hand, though very rare, not my forte . When hunting, I always use a rest of some sort. That's better than I have ever shot [green monster in me] Polecat
Glad you liked the target!we held our monthly shoot on Saturday and for grins i had every one shoot the ice cream cone best score was 30 ( it wasn't me ) every body had a ball
THe one L&R lock I have took a lot more than that to become serviceable.
Sounds good. A new gun, hair, and a wife at 80.I have got too much ££££$$ on my credit card and just added another £760 holts auction
I got the 1833 percussion heavy barrel rifle , It is around 577 but the riffling has been drilled out , so nobody was bidding. Lucky me oval riffling could be impressive , but 6 groves would look better. Who knows be three weeks before it arrives in the post
Happy now , well It was till my wife demanded she cut my hair, hate haircuts .
She was a hairdresser that’s why she’s thin I guess. Yes that’s me at 80 and the wife in the sun
New meaning new to you. Good that it brings pleasure to you. Enjoy!Bollocks. Hope I am aloud to say that. I don’t like buying good guns , they are seldom that good after 175 years. Went for £1100 plus 30% buyers commision. A tatty one went for £400. Holts put on a sealed bid auction at end of month. There’s another .41 Swiss ml there might have a punt on that £?!!!! ???? It looks genuine in photos One with loads of engraving Need to somehow pay off
Ha. You always remember your first pour into a muffin pan! How tentative I was when I first did that. You did good, Kipawa17. You did good. Takes a while to cool down, hey?Melted soft lead into muffin pan ingots for the first time! Didn't start a fire or burn myself.
