Out patrolling the farm with our bear dog Rose before church and found an almost perfect flint. It might be good for one shot or fifty shots, but it was free.

worked out a deal with my nephew for a supply of Myrtle, Maple, and Madrone for stock planks.
some of the Maple is birds eye, some is quilted, and some is flamed.
Sold him a mill some years back and looked at some of the wood he has been cutting while in Nor Cal for sending on some family members that died the last year. these ceremonies tire me out anymore. had a flower drop off my oldest brothers memorial bridge over the Klamath river. 1000 rose petals, 1000 Shasta Daisies and some others i didn't/don't know the names.
looked like thousands of butterflies drifting on the wind.
too many sad memories.

Working on a double mule ear build. Have to do some work on the lock, mostly TIG welding up the hammer cups that are worn quit bad, making a new leaf spring for the sear and do some tuning. Barrels are tacked together with soft solder and fixtured to a board so I can shoot them using firecracker fuse to set off the charge to see where they impact. Used my laser sighter to check both barrels, looks like the bottom one is going to shoot low and to the left. Also reformed and shortened a Hawken's trigger guard to use. Should be an interesting project.

Don't let a good BBQ go waste !! I had all my scraps of pillow ticking saved from cutting out patches. It put them in a char tin and put the tin on the BBQ to char the ticking for future flint and steel fires.

My wife just gave me a pair of her jeans that she’s done with. I’m gonna make char cloth out of them.
